Scaligrafías
Eduardo Scala (Madrid 1945). The observation of the sacred, begun in the book Geometría del éxtasis (Geometry of Ecstasy), subtitled Razón de serpentinas, (1974), serves as the core of this series of unpublished “writings” done in the late nineteen nineties using drops of India ink. A complex framework in which philosophy mingles with all that is sacred and magical, creating drawings in which color, the stroke of ink and numerology generate synthetic acts that come close to the poetry of Zen.
This is the first time that the artist has shown his work with “drops” (gotas) since a 1989 exhibition in the Círculo de Bellas Artes and in the Víctor Martín Gallery in 1991. |
