Monique de Roux, drawings

Since 1969, Monique de Roux (Paris, 1948) has been developing her craft in the fields of painting, etching and drawing. Her European studies (between Paris and Madrid) were further enriched through a lengthy stay in Central America where she studied color, an element that plays an essential role within the language in which it is developed. With an extensive body of work, she has been the recipient of numerous national and international awards.
Drawings characterized by strong strokes and rotund subjects, enveloped in an atmosphere of light and color; transforming dramatic gestures and actions into moments of soft and expectant calm.
